After seven years of constant success, this year's IIUPE is going to be organized for the 8th time. The exhibition is expected to take place at The National Art Gallery, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and Drik Gallery in Dhaka, Bangladesh in the month of July. National and International students from universities are encouraged to participate in IIUPE 2012. The panels of judges for this event are comprised of eminent photographers of the country. Awards will be given under two medium Color and Black & White. Each section consisting of 8 categories portrait, daily life/lifestyle, landscape & nature, architecture, still life, action, and conceptual. Photo Stories will also be awarded by the judges. The names of the judges will be announced shortly.
Rules and Regulation:
1. Participants should be a student of undergraduate, graduate or any equivalent level.
2. During Registration the photographer has to give a proof of his/her studentship, ex. Student ID.
3. Only online entries will be accepted. No print or film submissions will be accepted for entry into this Exhibition.
4. Photo submission will be open from 15 April 2012 to 31 May 2012, 23:59pm at www.nsupc.org
.
5. No late submission will be accepted.
6. Photos will be submitted into 2 mediums, Color & Black & White. Under each medium there are 8 categories :
i. Action.
ii. Architecture.
iii. Landscape & Nature.
iv. Daily Life.
v. Portrait.
vi. Still Life.
vii. Photo Story.
viii. Conceptual.
7. Conceptual Photography is being introduced for the first time ever in IIUPE, where you can send in photographs which concentrate more on an idea rather than documentation. This category is broad in nature and allows room for things like symbolism, abstraction, and photo modification. Conceptual photography allows only single entries, you cannot send in a Photo Series or Photo Stories. We are also looking for photographs which stand out from the other categories in the exhibition.
8. Conceptual Photography is not to be confused with Photo Story. Participants have to submit single/standalone photographs under the Conceptual category.
9. Each participant may submit a maximum of 2 entries (Max .of: 8 *2*2=32) under each medium & each category except Photo Story; A maximum of 2 Photo Stories may be submitted under each medium [black & white and color]. Each Photo story should not exceed of 5 photographs.
10. Participants have to pay a registration fee of BDT 700 for each of his/her selected photograph and a registration fee of BDT 2000 for each selected Photo story.
11. Entries submitted must not have won prizes in other competitions.
12. All submissions are final. Further changes will not be allowed.
13. NSUPC will not be liable for any errors or failures occurred during the submission of the photos. All the rules and regulations are subject to change without prior notice to all participants.
Submission Guidelines:
1. The Participants must be the author and sole owner of the copyright of each photograph submitted for IIUPE 2012.
2. Entries must be submitted online in accordance with file uploading instructions as detailed below:
a) File must be in .JPEG format.
b) Photographs submitted must not have any compression artifact.
c) File must contain at least 3000 pixels on the longer side.
d) File Size must not exceed 8 MB.
e) No identifying text overlay or adjacent credit on exhibition entries.
f) Photo Stories should be submitted in compressed form and must not exceed 20 MB.The compressed file must include a write-up of the photo story in .doc format.
3. Minimal digital manipulation (i.e. only manipulations such as color enhancement, cropping) is allowed. However, adding or removing key elements of the composition is strongly discouraged and may Not be accepted for judging. Excessively manipulated photos will be disqualified.
4. Photographs bearing copyright/watermark stamp/logo will Not be accepted.
